Situated in an old maltings building in the heart of Linton’s Outstanding Conservation Area, gallery above & beyond
seeks to bring high quality art to South Cambridgeshire, covering a wide range of styles and media.
Run by Rosemary Wellings, the gallery focuses on local works from Linton and the surrounding area with occasional forays further afield. It includes paintings, studio ceramics, photography and woven willow sculptures, as well as gifts and cards.
It specialises in works by three members of the Ravilious family: Eric, 1908-1942, an extraordinary painter, engraver and WW2 war artist, his son James 1939-1999, who trained in Fine Art then became a renowned photographer and, representing the current generation, designer Kiran who produces beautiful stationery, housewares and fine fabrics.
The gallery forms part of an interesting cluster of independently run shops with a strong emphasis on organics and sustainability.
